35th Mladifest: Medjugorje Youth Festival

August 1-6, 2024
Guided by Camillians in Italy

The Mladifest, the Medjugorje Youth Festival has been held in every August for over three decades. Thousands of young people gather to honour the Gospa (Our Lady of Medjugorje). Each year, long lines form at the confessionals, and numerous faithful take part in the celebrations and the festival.

For some years now, some Camillian religious have been participating in the event, inviting young people who are connected to our ministerial realities. This year, the invitation is extended to the Three Italian Provinces to live together a strong interprovincial experience, which is also a visible vocational promotion.

Such a large gathering of young people who pray together and receive sacraments is second only to the World Youth Days, strongly desired by Saint John Paul II.

The Medjugorje Youth Festival is the largest annual international gathering in Europe, born out of the will of Father Slavko Barbaric, who began to gather and welcome some young people, particularly to speak to them about the Marian spirituality of Medjugorje.

This year too, thousands of young people will listen to catechesis and testimonies, pray, and participate in the evening prayer program.
