Brothers of Ebola – Reopening of the Holy Spirit Hospital, Sierra Leone

anthonuiToday, 7 January, the Holy Spirit Hospital in Sierra Leone was opened. The first goal of the Camillian Task Force in Makeni has been achieved thanks to the work of the team that has flanked and supported the diocese and the management of the hospital. Father Antony of the Camillian Task Force says that at the moment four wards are open in just one wing of the hospital with twelve beds overall  These beds will be for non-Ebola patients and from Friday they will be fully operational.

Brother Madhu in particular will deal with the selection of patients. This is a valuable and complex undertaking that will allow an initial screening of patients with symptoms attributable to the terrible virus. On 11 January at Freetown the cargo plane with most of the laboratory materials that will help in doing the test should land at the airport.
