On March 4, 1974, three Camillian missionaries from the Sicilian-Neapolitan province left for Benin in Africa.

On September 15, 2018 the mission was erected a RELIGIOUS PROVINCE: it has the presence of 80 perpetually professed religious, 8 temporary professed, 5 novices, 20 postulants and 8 young people in the year of spirituality.

On Monday, September 9, the celebrations began with a conference. Sr. Emma Gbaguidi, Superior General of the Sisters of St. Augustine, during the conference spoke about the challenges of religious life in the African context. This was followed by the intervention of Father Macel, a Dominican religious, on the management of the works of religious institutes.

The spiritual retreat was preached by Fr. Rosario Mauriello, provincial superior of the Sicilian-Neapolitan province. He focused on the challenge of the Camillian religious for the mission.

On Wednesday, September 12, there was a conference of Father Christian de Paul de Barchifontaine, Camillian religious of the province of Brazil on the theme: Health and Sacred Scripture. The challenge to a life of prophecy.

On Friday, September 14,  three solemn religious professions, five temporary professions, three priestly ordinations and the 20th anniversary of the consecration of the first three Beninese priests, Fr. Marius, Fr. Raoul and Fr. Hubert were celebrated.

We ask all of you a prayer for this great gift for the whole Camillian Order.
