The International Conference “Consecratio et consecratio per evangelica consilia”, organized by the Congregation for the Institutes of Consecrated Life and the Societies of Apostolic Life, will be held at the Pontifical University Antonianum in Rome on May 3 – 6, 2018.
Following a careful and critical assessment of the present reality in today’s Church, the Dicastery has for some time promoted a reflection upon the diverse meanings being given to the expressions ‘consecration’ and ‘Consecrated Life’.
The aim of the Conference is to involve the members of the diverse Forms of Consecrated Life, Lay Associations and Movements in the reflection regarding certain issues which were previously identified during a Seminar about the same topic, in which theologians, Canon Lawyers and other experts, participated.
The Conference will have moments when all participants will be together and others when specific realities will meet separately. The realities taking part are Ordo virginum, Religious Institutes, Societies of Apostolic Life, Secular Institutes, New Institutes and New Forms, Associations and Movement.
