Mgr. Prosper Kontiebo M.I appointed Metropolitan Archbishop of Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso)

The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral governance of the Archdiocese of Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) presented by H.Em. Card. Philippe Nakellentuba Ouédraogo. The Holy Father has appointed H.E. Mgr. Prosper Kontiebo, M.I., hitherto Bishop of the Diocese of Tenkodogo, as Metropolitan Archbishop of Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso).

Curriculum vitae

H.E. Mgr. Prosper Kontiebo, M.I., was born on 25 September 1960 in Boassa, in the Archdiocese of Ouagadougou. He made his Perpetual Vows in 1988 in the Order of the Ministers of the Infirm (Camillians) and was ordained a priest on 7 July 1990.

He held the following positions: various positions at the Saint Camille Scholasticate; Vice-Provincial superior of Camillian vice-province in Burkina Faso; Member of the College of Consultors; Member of the Episcopal Council; Member of the Order of the Ministers of the Infirm.

He was appointed First Bishop of Tenkodogo on 11 February 2012 and was consecrated the following 2 June. Since 2012 until now, he has been the Bishop of Tenkodogo.
