The liturgy of the renewal of vows

As takes place every year, on 8 December, the day of the Immaculate Conception, Camillians throughout the world will renew their religious vows with a special celebration.

In the Church of St. Mary Magdalene in Rome, this year as well, Father Leocir Pessini, the Superior General of the Order, at 16.00 will preside over a liturgical celebration together with our religious brothers who live in the generalate house and the communities of Rome; the women religious Daughters of St. Camillus; the women Ministers of the Sick; and all the friends of the Camillians who wish to share in this moment of spirituality of a quintessentially Camillian kind.

Formula of the renewal of vows of the ‘Ministers of the Sick’

‘Moved by the Holy Spirit, I believed in the charity of God, I embraced the charism of mercy towards the sick and I intend to live my whole life for the one God and for the merciful Jesus Christ. For this reason, today in front of my religious brothers and all those present I renew my promise made to God to serve the sick forever even at risk to my own life, in perfect chastity, poverty and obedience, according to the Constitution and the General statutes of the Order of the Ministers of the Sick, giving myself totally to this religious family. Brothers, I entreat you to help me, so that with the grace of the Holy Spirit, with the help of Mary our Mother, and with the intercession of St. Camillus our father, I may exercise perfect charity in service to God and the Church.
