Year of Mercy in India

IMG_9373Firstly, Inauguration of the Diploma on Pastoral Health Theology: The Inauguration of the Diploma on Pastoral Health Theology will be held on 2nd June 2016 at Upasana at 10.30 AM, which is affiliated to the Pontifical Athenaeum of DVK. It is a moment of joy and blessing, a grace filled moment for us Camillians in India. First and foremost, I thank God for making it happen. This new venture becomes a reality in this great Jubilee Year of Mercy. We, Camillians feel proud to be part of it as we are called to witness prophetically and practically to the Merciful love of Jesus, in the model of the Good Samaritan and St. Camillus.

Sincere appreciation and gratitude to the Pontifical Athenaeum of DVK, the president, the Dean of Theology faculty, the senate members for granting us the affiliation and for all the support and encouragements as well. I do gratefully acknowledge the remarkable commitments and hard work of Fr. William, Upasana community, Fr. Siby Kaitharan, head of the ministry department of the province and my council members for making this happen. It is to once again to invite you all for the inauguration of this program.

Secondly, plans for the Year of Mercy

I am attaching a shorter version of our Year of Mercy Brochure, for individual and community use. It lists 40 action plans for the Year of Mercy.

Thirdly, plans of the province for the Year of Mercy

  •   Spiritual Animation Team will guide us in the areas of one and two (Personal Conversion and Community Reconciliation)
  • Province along with the Lay Camillian Family distributed water bottles, cap and food packets to more than two thousand migrants in Hyderabad. Still we continue this mission.
  • Helping poor dialysis patients
  • Home for Homeless, a project supported by CADIS
  • Help for medical Interventions and Medicines
  • Educational Help

I hope our province has made bold and generous plans for the Year of Mercy, initiatives that will truly help us to be more compassionate and reconciled in our communities, and put the interests of the poorest at the heart of church. In case you have launched/organized any special programs or services which are good for others to know, please send me a report. We can all learn from the best practices among us. After all, we religious, through our life-style and ministries, are supposed to be the prophetic witnesses showing the way to the rest of the church.
