Copia di dettaglio_statua_esterna_1Yesterday evening, on the evening news of Tg2, an interview was broadcast from the generalate house of the Camillians. The subject was the recent events connected with the Order, which has been going through a storm since the arrest of the Superior General, Renato Salvatore.

‘We, too, are the victims of who should have helped us to remedy certain situations but who instead did the opposite’, said the Camillian, Brother Carlo Mangione. ‘Not to speak of our dirtied image and the disorientation inside our Institute, especially amongst its older members’.

‘Now’, he concluded, ‘we want the truth about what happened and the cleaning also wanted by Pope Francis’. Lucio Brunelli, who was responsible for the programme, observed that the Camillians are present in forty countries in the world with their worthy activities and now want to move on.

This interview, which was also taken up by the blog Il sismografo, has generated great interest and attention on the web site of Tg2 and on the social networks.
