In March Three Days of Spirituality for Camillian Religious

The beginning of 2014 will witness an intensification of the appointments for the Camillian jubilee year which will end on 14 July next. Amongst the very many initiatives that have been programmed, the ‘three days of copertina celebrazionispirituality’ which will take place on 18-20 March at the House of St. Mary Magdalene in Rome stand out. This will be an opportunity for Camillian religious to meet each other. They will be called to reflect on our vocation and our being ‘called’ and ‘sent out’, albeit with the personal and communal frailties that characterise us. The title of these three days – the charism of Camillus: a great gift in frail hands? – well expresses this condition.

After the welcoming greetings by the Vicar General, Father Paolo Guarise, the reflection will be led by informed and authoritative speakers: His Eminence Cardinal Joao Braz de Aviz, the Prefect of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life; His Excellency Monsignor José Rodriguez Carballo and Sister Nicoletta Spezzati, respectively the Secretary and Under-Secretary of the same Congregation; and Brother José Carlos Bermejo, the Director of the ‘Humanizzacion de la Salud’ Centre of Madrid.

Thanks to their papers we will discuss the meaning of this jubilee year and the challenges that await us. We will speak about how Camillian spirituality belongs to the world of health and health care today and of the importance of suitable training.

Emphasis should be laid upon the appointment of the afternoon of 19 March at 16.00 when Cardinal Joao Braz de Aviz will meet the great family of St. Camillus, made up of the Sisters Daughters of Camillus, the Women Ministers of the Sick, the Handmaidens of the Incarnation, the Secular Institute of the Women Missionaries of the Sick Christ the Hope, and the Lay Camillian Family. At the end of these ‘three days’ there will also be an opportunity for a short visit to the places where St. Camillus lived and worked.

The course will be in Italian and is open to all Camillian religious. Enrolments should be sent in by and no later than 5 March
