Fr. Pedro Tramontin – 57th General Chapter, May 15 2013

PRESENTATION

I’m Father Pedro from the Brazilian Province, but I nowadays belong to the United States Delegation, where I am since three years. Before in Brazil I developed the activity of educator as Master of Novices for ten years and then I also carried out some activities as vocation animator in the Province. Being the Delegation of the United States added to the Brazilian Province then I’ve been invited to go to the United States where I already spent three years to do this “connection” between the Delegation and the Brazilian Province. Now I’m involved in almost all the activities that we carry out in the U.S. with the purpose to know the difficulties and also what we can do in the future in the U.S. So I have this kind of role between the Brazilian Province and the Delegation of the United States.

COMMENT ON THE CHAPTER

This is my second time in the General Chapter. I’ve been also in 2001 when I was so much younger and innocent and everything seemed to be so beautiful. Now I’m starting to feel the difficulties as well. But what impresses me more is the fraternity we have, the desire to truly find solutions for the problems that are there and that we have to face. What I expect the most is a new “boost” of the Camillian Charism which is so beautiful but not so known yet and maybe sometimes too rigid in the old system we have. We need new faces, I’d say, to present the chrism, in fact I’m happy because there are so many young people in this Chapter. Thay don’t have an active participation yet, but with the experience maybe we’ll meet at this point. I think it’s remarkable thing they come from sia and Africa, where there are so many young people and where there’s a strong expression of the Camillian presence. Thats’ what I expect, a new revitalization, new forms of expression of the religious life and the Camillian charism.
